My name is Willa. I am a music publicist, copywriter, multimedia artist, musician, and published journalist.

I’ve always loved writing and being creative, but what has drawn me to PR came by way of first writing for magazines and then studying advertising. PR and advertising are so much more than capitalism and consumerism. PR is about connection, creative writing, and amplifying artists. Advertising employs sociology, psychology, and requires finding what really matters to people and pulls at their heart strings – Beyond spending money, advertising must pierce through the persistent wall of content that’s presented to us constantly. It’s a challenge to be really real. Same with PR – anyone can make fake friends, but I take it as a challenge to be authentic.

Plus, my Grandma Betty, whom I never had the pleasure of meeting, was a BOSS in the advertising world in the 1960’s (Mad Men Era). I hear she was an absolute riot. So that may be in my blood.

Bicoastal & bilingual. Living in New York, born and raised in Los Angeles. No, I don’t have a favorite.

In my free time I love:

writing about music and women’s and gender issues,

playing guitar and singing in my band,

hanging out with my little sister,

cooking, and then eating what I cook.
